AbouT GIG Economy Jobs

Gig economy jobs are usually short-term contractual jobs performed by freelance workers. Various internet platforms and phone applications facilitate gig economy jobs.

Those gig economy platforms and apps make easy for gig workers to connect with people that need their services and therefore create a gig economy market.

Gig economy workers do not have to bind to a particular employer or a specific business. Therefore gig economy jobs offer more freedom and options to workers.

On the other hand, gig jobs do not get the company benefits offered to permanent job positions. Benefits like medical and dental insurance or retirement savings plans sponsored by the employer are absent in gig economy jobs.

This gig economy jobs list outlines gig jobs offered by online platforms via smartphone applications.

If you ask baby boomers about how to get a gig economy job, most likely you will get the following response:

A gig job?… Can you play the guitar or perform?  You may also check with the local temporary staffing agency. They may have some gigs for you.

If you ask the same question millennials, they will send you to check what gig jobs are currently available on internet or point you to Uber, Lyft or Amazon Flex websites.

Nowadays you can find gig jobs by using the internet or phone applications. Hundreds of gig economy companies are offering gig jobs via their platforms run by algorithms and machine learning software. If you qualify to get the gig job you want, the gig economy jobs are easy to start and manage.

Freedom

Gig economy jobs give freedom in many ways. Gig workers have more freedom to choose their work schedules, clients, projects, rates, vacation time and more. And there is no boss. In most cases, their only boss is the platform algorithm.

Flexibility

Gig economy jobs allow more flexibility to workers who need a manageable work schedule such as students, parents of small children, and people with full-time jobs who need extra income.

Options

Gig economy jobs offer many options for gig workers. In addition to variety of positions to choose gig workers may decide when and how to approach a task, project, or how to complete the gig job they undertake.

I rent a property using the Airbnb platform. So far so good. Easy to advertise and manage the renting to visitors to the city. I have not had a bad experience so far with tenants. Looks like Airbnb platforms is doing a good job with background checks. The platform offers helpful feedback and communication sequence. Helping me get good renting income.

Driving for Lyft in my spare time. Using a small low maintenance car. If you choose a time when traffic is not that bad and demand for rideshare still high you can make good hourly earnings. Happy to get this gig. The additional income I earn is just ok.
